“Wastewater”, or wastewater, is water used in human, domestic, industrial or agricultural activities, which for this reason contains organic and inorganic substances that can cause damage to health and the environment.
Wastewater is all water whose quality has been compromised by human action after its use in domestic, agricultural and industrial activities, thus becoming unsuitable for direct use as it is contaminated by various types of organic and inorganic substances that are dangerous for public health and the natural environment.
For this reason, it cannot be directly reintroduced into the environment since the final recipients such as land, sea, rivers and lakes are not able to receive a quantity of pollutants greater than their self-purifying capacity without compromising the normal balances of the ecosystem.
