When the temperature begins to drop, you need to think about putting the pool in a condition to pass the winter without problems and above all without giving annoying inconveniences when restarting.
First of all, you need to check the temperature. The pool must continue to operate regularly until the water is at 14° C.
Obviously, the operating times of the filtration system must be adjusted to the water temperature as described in the table:
- t° < di 14° C: 1 – 2 h/gg
- t° da 14° C a 20° C: 4 h/gg
- t° da 20° C a 25° C: 14 h/gg
- t° da 25° C a 28° C: 16 h/gg
- t° > di 28° C: 20 h/gg + 1 h x each grade over 28°
When the pool has reached a stable temperature of 14° C, proceed as follows:
- Clean the pool and the filtration system, chlorinate (15 grams per m3 of water in the pool) and operate the pool for 24 consecutive hours.
- Pour the wintering chemical product into the pool at a rate of 5 litres per 100 m3 of water and operate the pool for 6 hours.
- Put away the summer cover, if provided, rolling it up with the supplied sheet directly on the roller.
- Set the filtration system clock to 1 hour from 12:00 to 13:00 and 1 hour from 24:00 to 1:00.
- Cover the pool with the winter cover, place the thermometer in the skimmer.
- When the temperature returns to a stable 14° C, clean the pool and filtration system, replace 30% of the water. In case of water particularly rich in iron or other minerals, it will be necessary to carry out a treatment with sequestrant (2 liters per 100 m3 of water in the pool). Only then carry out a treatment with chlorine (15 grams per m3 of water in the pool), add 2 liters of anti-algae after mixing in a bucket of water and run the system for 24 hours.
- Stabilize the pH (in the ideal values between 7.2 and 7.6) with ph-minus or ph-plus by diluting the necessary product in a bucket of water, and resume the normal summer treatment.
ATTENTION!
If ice forms during the winter on the surface of the pool, do not break it, it could cut the liner.
